Finding a church in New York City can be daunting. There are many churches and denominations to choose from, but finding the church for you can be a little overwhelming in such a busy city. We believe that God will lead you to the right church at the right time. Finding the right church can definitely impact your spiritual well-being. If you have a great church to attend that you feel apart of, you will reap the benefits of great leadership and encouragement
We are a NYC non-denominational church that gathers together to worship and praise God. What does it mean to be a part of a non-denominational church? Well, we are glad you asked that question.
Here’s what it means to be a part of a NYC Non-Denominational Church:
Different than a Lutheran or Methodist church, a non-denominational church does not subscribe to an officially aligned denomination. Essentially, they may share a lot of the same beliefs as traditional denominations, but they are not part of the same “club”. A great Manhattan non-denominational church has a great mission statement to let you know what they believe in.
For example, here at Alive Church NYC, we have three core beliefs that center our church family:
First, we believe that the Bible is absolutely flawless. It is the true and inspired word of God and it is relevant to all of us today!
Next, we believe that Jesus is our Lord and Savior. We believe that He loves us unconditionally.
Third, we believe that the Holy Spirit is powerful and with us daily.
These three main points may not be present in every Hells Kitchen Non-Denominational Church. If they seem to resonate with you, read on! We might be the best church family for you! Also, click here to read more about our mission statement of beliefs.
In effect, a great NYC Non-Denominational Church holds onto traditional Christian beliefs, but expresses them in a relevant, contemporary, made for today way.
Another thing that makes a great non denominational NYC church is the ability to connect with other like minded people. You want to continuously surround yourself with similar people who can engage with you and grow you through encouragement and just doing life together. Here are just two of the ways that non denominational churches connect people like you to others you can relate to.
City groups are a place where we can work to improve and strengthen friendships, be encouraged, and share the love of God’s word. Building healthy and strong relationships is a vital part of living in New York City. In fact, I’m not sure how you would be able to to do it happily or peacefully without connecting to other like minded, Christian people. Join us every other week for our City Groups at 7:00 PM – Women meet on Friday and Men on Tuesday.
Prayer is one of the most important things you can do as a Christian. Jesus said in Matthew 18:19-20, “If two of you agree on earth about anything they as, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.” So Jesus Himself will be there when we pray in agreement. Here at Alive Church NYC, we have seen prayer powerfully and effectively impact the lives of families and friends in our circles through their jobs, physical and emotional healing as well. We meet for prayer every Wednesday at 7:00 PM!
